In a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi, a man was allegedly slapping and pulling his mother’s hair. The viral video is evidence of the barbaric act of a son who was captured circling the 80-year-old woman and then hitting her with slippers.

The incident took place in Barua village in Kaushambi, some 170 km away from Lucknow, reported NDTV.

The man identified as Sonu Thakur was viciously attacking her mother, Chandra Sinha. The elderly woman was too weak to respond to his blows and was forced to resist. The chilling clip shows the man pulling his mother’s hair, slapping her, and then hitting her with slippers.

The woman is unstable who soiled clean clothes of Thakur, reported the English daily, adding that this act flew him into a rage. Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said that they have dispatched a team to investigate the matter and submit a detailed report.

In another unrelated incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur, a man choked his mother to death so that he could claim her life insurance payout to repay the loans he had taken to play games on an online platform.

According to the report, the accused, Himanshu, allegedly killed his mother to claim Rs 50 lakh insurance and then disposed of her body near the Yamuna riverbank in a jute bag.

Himanshu’s repeated losses made him borrow more and keep playing. When he realised he had to repay around Rs 4 lakh he hatched a plan.

He first stole his paternal aunt’s jewellery and bought life insurance policies worth Rs 50 lakh each for his parents. Subsequently, he allegedly choked his mother, Prabha, to death when his father was out, said police. He then drove the Yamuna riverbank in his tractor to dispose of her body.

On returning from his visit to Chitrakoot temple, Himanshu’s father, Roshan Singh, did not find his wife and son at home.

After consulting his relatives and neighbours, he came to know that his son had gone on the tractor near the river.

Later, the body was recovered from near Yamuna and Himanshu was arrested soon after.

Police probe revealed the plot he hatched to murder his mother so that he could clear his debt. “The son was on the run after murdering his mother. We caught him and unearthed the sinister crime,” senior police officer Vijay Shankar Mishra told.
