The Jamnagar Airport operated by the Indian Air Force saw over 120 landings and takeoffs on Friday as the city geared up to host the three-day pre-wedding festivities for celebrations of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son Anant Ambani.
Anant Ambani, the youngest of the three children of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, is set to marry Radhika Merchant, the younger daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare, and entrepreneur Shaila Merchant, later this year.
With world leaders, global celebrities and sportspersons on the guest list, flight operations to and from Jamnagar included countries and cities like Los Angeles, New York, London, Seoul, Qatar, Bhutan, UAE, Paris and Italy among others.
The Jamnagar airport catered to all major aircraft manufacturers and models like Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, Falcons, Gulfstreams, Learjet, Legacy, Phenom, Hawkers, and Citations.
In total, there were 15 large charters from Delhi, Mumbai and across the world. “The Jamnagar Airport managed by our Air Force did a fabulous job of managing this traffic in a great manner,” a top official said.
The guest list for the pre-wedding festivities includes international business leaders like Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Adnoc CEO Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, and EL Rothschild chair Lynn Forester de Rothschild.
Performances at the bash will be headlines by Hollywood pop-icon Rihanna.
