The initial custody of the Arvind Kejriwal ended on March 28, however, a Delhi court extended his custody for four more days till April 1.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to produce Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court at 11 am on Monday in connection to the money laundering case linked to the alleged liquor policy scam. The custody of Kejriwal is ending today.
The initial custody of the Delhi Chief Minister ended on March 28, however, a local court extended his custody for four more days till April 1.

- The Enforcement Directorate arrested the AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 in connection to its probe related to the alleged liquor policy scam case.
- The investigative team on Thursday filed a remand request, claiming they need more time to question Kejriwal to confront him with other individuals. “He is deliberately not cooperating with us,” said ASG SV Raju who is representing the ED.
- Meanwhile, Kejriwal has been governing the national capital from jail with his wife Sunita Kejriwal passing his orders to his Cabinet colleagues.
- AAP has been dubbing Kejriwal’s arrest a “political conspiracy”. The party has also been organising protests with Opposition leaders gathering support for the party chief.
- Notably, the Delhi Chief Minister’s arrest came just ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and prompted ‘Megarally’ from the Opposition camp. Top leaders belonging to the INDIA Boc on Sunday participated in the ‘Loktantra Bachao’ rally organised at the Ramlila Maidan in the capital to showcase their unity against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal.
- Leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Tejashwi Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray, and Mallikarjun Kharge were seen at the protest against Kejriwal’s ED arrest at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital. Delhi CM’s wife Sunita Kejriwal was also present at the ‘Save Democracy’ rally.
- On Sunday, Sunita Kejriwal read out a letter written by her husband Arvind Kejriwal from jail, wherein he promised six guarantees on behalf of the Opposition’s INDIA bloc.
- Kejriwal’s six guarantees included 24-hour electricity across the country, free electricity for the poor in the entire country, government schools in every village and locality, Mohalla Clinics, MSP for farmers, and more.
- Notably, the United Nations, as well as the US and Germany, have spoken on the arrest of Kejriwal. Hoping that everyone’s rights will be protected ahead of the elections, the world body raised its concerns.
- Kejriwal was arrested after he skipped nine summons issued to him by the central agency for questioning. Notably, the Delhi Chief Minister is the third AAP leader after his former deputy Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh were arrested in the liquor policy scam case.
