Prime Minister Narendra Modi In Gujarat: On day 2 of his visit to Gujarat on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate five new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campuses at a public ceremony in Rajkot. The Prime Minister will later take part in a kilometre-long roadshow from the old airport and later address a public rally.

Apart from that, PM Modi will also unveil the ‘Sudarshan Setu’, the bridge linking the Okha mainland to the Beyt Dwarka island. Constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 980 crore, the 2.32 km cable-stayed bridge is the longest in India. Notably, the bridge features a pedestrian path embellished with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and depictions of Lord Krishna, alongside solar panels that produce 1 MW electricity.

PM Modi’s Itinerary For The Day

As per a government release, the prime minister will arrive at Rajkot AIIMS on Sunday afternoon and address a rally at the Race Course ground in the city later in the evening.

During the function, PM Modi will inaugurate five AIIMS campuses located in Rajkot (Gujarat), Bathinda (Punjab), Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh), Kalyani (West Bengal), and Mangalagiri (Andhra Pradesh). The five super-speciality hospitals, including the one in Rajkot, have been built by the Centre at a cost of Rs 6,300 crore.

Apart from this, Modi will inaugurate and perform ground-breaking for projects of Rs 48,000 crore of different state and Central departments, such as NHAI, Railways, Energy and Petrochemicals, Road and Building, Ports and Health and Family Welfare.

Of these, projects of Rs 35,700 crore are for Gujarat, while the remaining are for other states.

The Prime Minister’s visit also includes the groundbreaking of several renewable energy projects to boost the sector’s capacity in the region. This consists of the 300 MW Bhuj-II solar power project, a grid-connected 600 MW solar PV power project, the Khavda solar power project, and the 200 MW Dayapur-Il wind energy project.

He will also launch ground-breaking for the new Mundra Panipat crude oil pipeline project, and doubling of the Rajkot-Surendranagar railway line, among others.

PM Modi will alsothen inaugurate and lay the foundation for 200 healthcare projects worth over Rs 11,500 crore across 23 states and Union Territories, including a new cardiology hospital in Vadodara.
