In a horrific incident, a man was killed and another was severely injured after a speeding SUV collided with their two-wheeler in Tamil Nadu’s Kancheepuram. The accident occurred on Friday near the Iyengar Kalam area, where an SUV, approaching from the opposite direction, struck the two-wheeler head-on.

The speeding BMW SUV then dragged the scooter, stuck under its front side, for nearly 50 meters.

The accident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, in which the SUV can be seen dragging the two-wheeler for several meters before coming to a halt.

As soon as the SUV came to a halt, local people reached the spot. The two people, who were on the two-wheeler, were rushed to a nearby hospital with severe injuries.

While the 44-year-old man, identified as Balamurugan, was declared dead by doctors, another man, named Ramesh, is undergoing treatment.

The Tamil Nadu Police have registered a case into the matter and initiated an investigation.

In a similar incident in Odisha, two people were left severely injured after a car dragged a two-wheeler for around one kilometre in Bhubaneswar’s Patia. The mishap occurred on Wednesday night.

According to the information, the car suddenly rammed into a scooter and the driver of the two-wheeler fell on the ground. He received injuries and was soon rushed to the hospital.

The car reportedly hit another person before ramming into the scooter, who has also been admitted to the hospital.
